Hi! I'm Cece, the one who started Honey Opal back in 2017. I started this company as a hobby, full of passion + belief that I truly knew this could be something big. I started taking weddings on my books back in 2019, and went full time in 2024, I have not looked back since. 

My husband TJ + I always had an itch to work alongside each other. It was a dream to capture these beautiful love stories, along side my best friend. So we decided to make the jump back in the summer of 2025. TJ has a beautiful eye, and artistic outlook on films. He loves to be in the background capturing true, authentic moments. 

I wanted to be able to offer all around services for my clients, and now we can do just that with Photo + Video Packages.

Dog mom. Crazy horse girl. Coke Zero enthusiast. And your go-to gal for turning western love stories into forever keepsakes — alongside my endlessly supportive husband and favorite adventure partner, TJ.

Rooted in Idaho and raised on country roads and golden light, we’ve built Honey Opal as a place where authentic storytelling meets intentional artistry.

I didn’t always know I’d end up here — with a camera in my hand and a heart full of passion for documenting love stories. I actually started college thinking I’d become a teacher, but dropped out my second semester feeling totally lost.

Then one day, my (then boyfriend, now husband) TJ asked me to take some photos of his truck — and I haven’t put the camera down since.

What started as a curious favor turned into a calling. I officially launched Honey Opal in 2020, and over the last 5 years, it’s grown into something so much more. With TJ joining the team shortly after we got married, we became the full photo + film duo we are today — capturing moments that feel like home: the butterflies, the belly laughs, and the beautifully imperfect in-betweens.

Ironically, I swore I’d never shoot weddings. Too chaotic, too emotional — not my vibe. But the first time I photographed a ceremony, I felt this fire in my chest. I just knew I’d found my place.

Now, whether we’re chasing light in the Boise foothills or filming first looks on an open ranch, we feel so lucky to create for couples across Idaho and beyond. These aren’t just pretty photos or highlight reels — they’re heirlooms. And we can’t wait to create yours.
